Services Available to Professionals

We make available, to professionals in the prevention field, hundreds of videos and a wide variety of brochures in our Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs Resource Centers. Perhaps, you could even join us for one of the many trainings and workshops we provide!

Most services are grant-funded, however those indicated by an asterisk ( * ), require a fee for service.

ATOD Prevention & Recovery Resource Center
The Council provides each county with informative brochures, pamphlets and research materials. Certified staff are available to offer supportive telephone guidance, technical assistance, professional consultation and referrals. Breast Cancer Awareness, Education and Screening Initiative
The goal of the Breast Cancer Awareness, Education, and Screening Initiative is to increase the number of women aged 40 and over in Cumberland, Salem, and Gloucester counties completing annual mammography screenings. The initiative enhances existing Southwest Council (SWC) services and includes group education, an evidence based intervention program, one-on-one education, referrals to the Affiliates Reach Out for Life financing program, transportation to Cumberland County residents, and incentives. SWC will partner with treatment centers to offer additional education sessions and recruit women to the initiative. For more information please call Amie Lidke at 856-794-1011 ext. 306.

Coping with Work and Family Stress*
A research-validated substance abuse prevention program proven to reduce stress and the risks of alcohol, tobacco, drug abuse and violence. This comprehensive and exciting program provides adults with the skills necessary to successfully handle challenging situations and to reduce stressors which can contribute to mental or physical health problems.

Film Library
Over 400 assorted ATOD videos and DVDs are available for ages 4 through adult on a wide variety of topics. Many titles are available in Spanish. For more information on this particular service, please call the Resource Center located in your county, which can be found on the Get In Touch page.

Healthy Communities Coalition
The Cumberland County Healthy Communities Coalition was formed to build healthy communities by reducing substance abuse. Our Coalition promotes coordination and partnership between organizations to create environments that are alcohol, tobacco and drug free. We build links between local organizations and individuals who are working to accomplish common goals.

Professional Trainings & Workshops
Educational services for professionals, businesses and community groups are available to increase awareness of risk factors leading to substance abuse and to train individuals on prevention strategies.

Volunteer Opportunities & Senior Services
The Council welcomes volunteers of all ages to assist with the many programs we offer, as well as to assist with services held within the Resource Centers.
