Joe has been with The Southwest Council, Inc. since 1991. As the Executive Director/CEO, he oversees the daily operations of the agency. Joe’s responsibilities include but are not limited to, grant writing, contract procurement, fiscal accountability, and program implementation.

Chelsea joined the Southwest Council, Inc. in 2016 and currently serves as the Director of Prevention Programs. Her role includes developing and coordinating community programs in the tri-county region, planning, supervising, and delivering evidence-based prevention services, in addition to maintaining relationships with community stakeholders. Chelsea has direct oversight of various state, and countywide grants, community and school-based programs. She is also a member of the agency Leadership Team.

Matthew has been with The Southwest Council, Inc. since 2015 and currently serves as the Director of Coalitions & Communications. In addition to overseeing to the Southwest Council’s three regional and community based coalitions, Matthew is the Program Director of the Cumberland County Healthy Communities Coalition. The coalition aims to bring together key community stakeholders to reduce substance abuse among youth in Cumberland County. Matthew is also responsible for the agency communications strategy, including website, media campaigns and social media maintenance.

Tom joined the Southwest Council, Inc. in 2010 and serves as the Director of EAP and Early Intervention Services. EAP’s provide employees with workplace-based resources for those who may be experiencing personal or career difficulties which could potentially interfere with their abilities to perform their job duties. For employers, EAP’s are available to assist in developing trainings and other programs that enhance their staff’s supervisory skills, interpersonal and communications skills directed toward improved job performance for themselves and their subordinates. Tom also provides substance abuse counseling, early intervention programs, and US Department of Transportation drug and alcohol regulatory compliance services and evaluations in New Jersey.

Jackie has worked for The Southwest Council since 2011. She currently serves as the coordinator for the clinical services offered by the agency. Jackie works as a credentialed intern in the Employee Assistance program, and oversees the aspects of the Intoxicated Driver Resource Center in both Cumberland and Salem counties. She also works in The Counseling Center at The Southwest Council which seeks to provide quality mental health and addiction services to adults aged 18 years and older.

Hanna has been with The Southwest Council since 2013. She is the coordinator for the agency’s Intoxicated Driver Resource Center. Hanna also assists with the Cumberland County Human Services Transportation Program and with the scheduling of counseling services. Additionally, Hanna is a member of the agency’s Wellness in the Workplace Committee.

Ashley joined the agency in 2014 and currently serves as a Prevention Specialist. Ashley provides evidence-based programs to schools throughout the communities which the agency serves. Additionally, Ashley works closely with community organizations, municipal partners, and families by utilizing environmental strategies and initiatives that will reduce underage drinking and prescription drug abuse. Ashley serves on the agency’s Wellness in the Workplace Committee and participates in the planning and implementation of Camp YEY.

Rosey has been with the Southwest Council, Inc. since 2009 and serves as an Alcohol Tobacco and Other Drugs Prevention Specialist. Rosey provides evidenced-based school and community-wide programming in Cumberland County. She also assists with the Intoxicated Driver Resource Center in the capacity of serving Spanish-speaking clients. Additionally, Rosey is the Camp YEY Director and Registrar.

Donald joined the agency in 2016 as the coordinator for the SCRATCH (Salem-Cumberland Regional Action Toward Community Health) Coalition. The coalition employs environmental strategies to change community norms which might be favorable to substance abuse in both Cumberland and Salem county. Donald also assists in the planning and implementation of Camp YEY.

Candice joined the agency in 2015 and currently serves as the Coordinator for the GRASP (Gloucester Regional Addictive Substances Prevention) Coalition. GRASP aims to reduce and prevent prescription drug abuse, underage drinking, and illicit drug use among youth and young adults in Gloucester County. Candice also oversees the GRYP SQUAD, GRASP’s teen division. In addition to coalition responsibilities, Candice helps with the planning and facilitation of Camp YEY.

Michael interned with The Southwest Council from 2008 until he became an official staff member in 2010. He currently acts as the coordinator for the Cumberland County Healthy Communities Coalition. Among his responsibilities, Michael is in charge of the coordination of the coalition’s Youth Network. The Youth Network is a group of teens from Cumberland County interested in living a healthy and drug-free lifestyle. Additionally, Michael assists in the planning and implementation of Camp YEY and serves as a team leader.

Tara joined the agency in 2014 and currently serves as a Prevention Specialist. Tara works closely with the Gloucester County Partnership for Success by enhancing and expanding the existing Gloucester County’s Regional Coalition’s efforts on preventing underage drinking and reducing prescription drug abuse. Tara is also responsible for tobacco prevention efforts, while building strong community relationships with community organizations that serve older adults and New Jersey returning Veterans.

Obie joined the Southwest Council, Inc. in 2014 as the Transportation Coordinator for the Cumberland County Human Services Transportation Program. Currently, Obie serves as the Operations Assistant with a focus on finances.

Ernie joined the Southwest Council, Inc. in 2014 as a driver for the Cumberland County Human Services Transportation Program. The Cumberland County Human Services Transportation Program, offers free of charge, non-emergency transportation for residents of the outlying geographic areas of Cumberland County who need transportation to the following services:

  • Family Support Services and Programs
  • Healthcare/Medical Appointments
  • Drug and Alcohol Counseling Services
