There’s No Place Like Home: Celebrating the Retirement of Alexis Regenelli
On September 11, 2025, the Southwest Council bid a fond farewell to a truly remarkable member of our team. After 30 years of dedicated service, Alexis Regenelli has officially retired, clicking her heels and following the “yellow brick road” onto her next great adventure. Alexis began her journey with the Southwest Council as an Administrative Assistant to the Executive Director.
Through years of hard work, unwavering dedication, and an eye for operational excellence, she rose to become the agency’s Director of Operations. In this role, Alexis played a pivotal part in guiding the agency through significant growth and transformation over the last 25 years.
“Over three decades, Alexis has epitomized what a truly outstanding employee should be,” shared Joe Williams, CEO of the Southwest Council. “She continually found ways to strengthen our accounting systems and enhance our workplace culture. Alexis is a selfless, wonderful person who devoted a large part of her life to serving others.”
Whether it was her ever-present smile, her steady leadership, or her love of The Wizard of Oz, Alexis will leave a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to work alongside her. Her legacy reminds us that even in the most challenging moments, we already have what we need to make meaningful change: brains, heart, and courage; her retirement has left big ruby slippers to fill!
As Alexis begins this new chapter, we’re excited for her to enjoy more time with her family and, of course, continue curating her impressive collection of Wizard of Oz memorabilia. Alexis, thank you for everything. While there’s no place like home, you’ll always have one here at the Southwest Council.
