Employees in this position cannot set their own preferences for work hours or location. Must possess a min. of a HS diploma.  Must have 2 years sobriety and experience in the principals of recovery that assist individuals to improve their health. Duties include providing curricula based programs to community organizations and schools, summer camp programs, outreach, and family services. You will be required to conduct small & large group presentations with various ages throughout the lifespan, participate in service development, planning, and implementation, & development of community partnerships through coalition activities. Some evening and weekend hours are occasionally required. Must be in possession of a BA/BS from an accredited college/university in education, psychology, social work or a related field by 12/31/22; a Master’s preferred.  2 years’ experience working directly in the field of substance use is preferred but not required. Excellent written and oral skills with strong computer knowledge are a must. A valid driver’s license is required; local travel minimum 10% of the time; reports to the Dir. of Coalition & Community Partnerships.  The ability to work occasional evenings and weekends is required to fulfill contractual obligations. A valid driver’s license is required; local travel min. 10% of the time.  This positions’ work is conducted primarily within the community, and the work schedule is determined by the need to provide programs and services when and where it is most beneficial to the population we serve. Project Coordinator: Salem, NJ: The Southwest Council, a private non-profit corporation that provides substance abuse education, prevention, and treatment services in Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem Co. seeks qualified individuals to work full time within the agency’s Coalitions Unit as the Salem Healthy Communities Coalition Project Coordinator (SCHCC). Under the supervision of the Project Director, coordinate Coalition services and project activities, including training, coalition communication, data collection and information dissemination, specifically those Coalition awareness/collaboration strategies and activities as outlined in the Coalition action plan. This position is responsible for the coordination of the Regional Coalition in the county(ies) specified. The SCHCC Project Coordinator provides support to the entire Council’s mission when needed. Duties include building capacity and expanding coalition involvement, work with community members and committees to ensure the goals of the coalition are met, promote coalition platforms via press releases, advertising, media, fliers, community events, and other means deemed beneficial for increasing awareness, conduct/coordinate parent, youth, and community presentations as needed on behalf of the coalition, participate in summer camp programs. Applicant will be required to conduct small & large group presentations with various ages throughout the lifespan, & participate in service development, planning, and implementation. Some evening and weekend hours are required. Must possess a minimum of a BA/BS from an accredited college/university in education, psychology, social work or a related field; a Master’s preferred, with 2 years’ experience working in a related field.
