Do you often feel that you are going to explode?

Do you find yourself becoming easily frustrated?

Has it become difficult to manage angry feelings?

If you said yes to any of these questions, you are not alone. According to a recent study, 22% of Americans have felt angry within the last day (Ray, 2021). Research shows, Brief Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an effective approach to managing anger (Fernandez et al., 2018; Morland et al., 2010). Changing Anger through Lifestyle Modifications (C.A.L.M) is an anger management skills group for adults struggling to manage their anger.

C.A.L.M. uses a Cognitive Behavioral approach and evidence-based materials from SAMHSA in each 90 minute session to help participants notice, understand, and change their response to anger triggering events. By the end of the 12 week program, participants can expect to have a better understanding of the aggression cycle, have developed assertiveness skills, and have developed an individualized plan to control anger.

Anger is something we all experience. For some it is expressed through road rage and for others it may look like difficulty with change. The goal of C.A.L.M is not to eliminate anger, rather help individuals identify and appropriately respond to events that trigger anger.

If you are someone who has difficulty adapting to change, often feels on edge, or has had negative consequences with employment, relationships or the law because of their anger, C.A.L.M. may be the group for you.
